Drive a car with a phone

Driving video games have always been popular. This is even more true on mobile gaming platforms where you can easily immerse yourself into the car driving experience. Now Sony Ericsson has proven that you can drive a car using their Xperia Arc phone. Now the Arc isn’t use to control the vehicle like in the memorable scene from Tomorrow Never Dies when James Bond remotely controls his BMW with a cell phone. But the stunt has a professional driver control his car with blacked out windows and only the Arc’s display as guidance. The Arc gets to show of its crisp display and fast video processor while the driver shows some fancy driving. Throw this together with some good music and you have a pretty compelling 4 minutes. You can watch the video below or go to the Sony Ericsson site. This is could actually be a dangerous stunt. It is NOT recommended that anyone tries this.

BTW – Here is a video of two guys who modified their car so that it can be driven with a cell phone. Unfortunately in this case the phone is a Nokia C7 but the car is a BMW. I wonder if they chose the car as a homage to Bond?
